Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are – Kurt Cobain

In the social-media-filled world of today, it is all about the glitz, glam and fame. It is very easy to get caught up in the show – people want to prove a point, others are looking to gaining more likes/follows and be the “coolest kid on the block”. In the process of keeping up with this show, we can easily get lost in who we really are. We find ourselves entangled up in the “comparison game”, trying so hard to be like someone else. Not to say that having likes/followers or being popular is bad, but it is extremely important to know or remember that the people behind all the glitz and glam have struggles – just like us. These people may have gone through several huddles to get to where they are; or at least they are still going through these struggles while showing off.

Inasmuch as we may get motivated to want to have it all, we need to make sure that we are ALWAYS our authentic selves and use that authenticity to inspire others as well. If we aren’t true to self, we cannot be true to others. We need to be patient at cultivating our lives and investing in ourselves, while striving to understand that we have different paths and callings in life. We need to know that we are perfect just the way we are and equipped to do just about anything we set our hearts to. The universe is just waiting for our minds to be set and make the decision to follow our purpose, and everything else will be aligned in our favor. As we face the challenges of each new day, we need to always strive to Feel Good, Look Good, Do Better.
